The Beechwood Cemetery Foundation welcomed Nicole to the position of Development Coordinator in March 2009. A graduate of the University of Ottawa’s class of ’05, Nicole earned an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, and immediately plunged into the not-for-profit sector and victims’ services field with the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre and Indian Residential Schools Resolution Canada. In these challenging and socially conscious positions Nicole developed a wide range of skills in counseling and crisis intervention, grant writing, volunteer support and event planning and coordination – all of which will stand her in good stead in her role with The Beechwood Cemetery Foundation. In her spare time Nicole enjoys reading, winter sports and knitting an endless supply of scarves…a perfect fit for Ottawa’s notoriously cold winters!
