Beechwood is fortunate to be conveniently located close to Parliament Hill, lying between St. Laurent Boulevard and Beechwood Avenue. To ensure easy access, the Beechwood Cemetery Company commissioned the construction of Beechwood Avenue from the St. Patrick Street Bridge to the present day entrance, in the late 1800's. Securely established between the neighborhoods of Rockcliffe Park, New Edinburgh, Manor Park and the cities of Vanier and Ottawa, Beechwood's 160 acres comprise the largest active cemetery in the City of Ottawa.
